Content Optimization: 6 Steps Rank Top hundreds of keywords with only 1 article

You will agree with me that: Creating quality content, optimizing content and retaining readers is extremely difficult… especially for SEOer!

Even if you have read hundreds and thousands of blog posts sharing about the techniques of writing Viral Content , this job still takes up hours of your brain.

But, what if I said that…

Is it possible to write engaging content without any “natural talent”?

Internal Link Model

Internal Link Model

You do not know the method of using Internal Link Model Rank Top Thousands of Keywords?

See now here!

Hmmmm…. That's exactly what you're about to discover right now!

In this article, I will bring you detailed simple content writing guidelines that I have applied to create a series of quality blogs and articles that are supported and loved by the SEO community.

Not only that, when combined with Search Intent (which I will mention in part 2), it also helps to top hundreds of keywords without spending too much effort / content cost.

Sounds interesting doesn't it?

Get your hands on it now!

3 Factors to prepare before starting

Before you start, you need to know that this article is over 4000 words long, but I won't cover it at length, just a detailed A - Z Formula for you to follow.

And the rest I will explain why it works not only for SEO, Marketing but also your monthly revenue!

Here's all you need:

  1. Tools: Ahrefs for keyword research & competitor content analysis (or another tool with similar features)

  2. Time: 20 minutes of search + 120 minutes of implementation

  3. Mindset: Hard work! Start doing it and you will see results. Nothing is more wasteful than knowledge that cannot be put into practice!

Ok! If you already have all 3 of the above, then proceed right away!

The formula for optimizing content to the top of hundreds of keywords with just 1 article

Step 1: Research Keyword Covering the Niche Market, Attracting Potential Customers

For news blog posts, keyword research is often the first step that people usually take.

Although there are many content marketing courses to guide you to do this

However… that's not how it works!

Let me explain it to you….

The market is full of keywords, and most of them are extremely competitive

Keyword search can sometimes be very difficult for certain industries, you can't spend all day long to do them!

Instead, it will be easier if you choose the topic first, then research keyword.

That's the way to write content or blog effectively!

2 ways you can expand your topic and attract the right potential customers, including:

1/ Stick to the content strategy:

For example: On October 24, 25, 26, I will have a Live training session 2 on the topic of Content & Internal Link (like Live Training 2 for example), so in order for everyone to focus on this topic, I need a content strategy. Talk about two main points:

  1. Content (Optimizing articles, choosing seo keywords, ...)

  2. Internal link (models, detailed instructions, notes on implementation, ...)

Then these are the 2 topics I choose to conduct keyword research

Another way is that you can classify by neighboring industry groups, for example, I will divide by form: Content, Onpage Technique, Offpage Technique, Entity method, ...

Selecting a specific topic and then conducting keyword research compared to finding the key first helps you avoid duplicate content topics later.

>> Wondering how to bring thousands of quality traffic to your website with quality content? I will guide you directly through Live Training 2: Build 1,000,000 traffic/month for your website in 72 Hours .

2/ Answer the question: What do customers need?

For example, if you are SEO for the keyword "travel bag", for example, it is not necessary that you only write articles about this product, but you can also expand to the "travel bag" market.

I would write articles like “things to prepare for backpacking” or “climbing experience” and insert my keyword “travel bag”!

When focusing from topic selection to keywords, you can easily put your keywords in a specific context, thereby optimizing Google RankBrain (this part I will cover in detail below)

A question that I often apply to expand the main topic is:

“What information will customers who buy this product/service usually look for?”

Ex: In the field of coffee tables and chairs , my target customers are new shop openings or interior design architects , etc. I will write articles like about the design/business of coffee shops and restaurants.

Or when you write real estate content, in addition to articles about products and services for housing, etc., you can expand to feng shui advice in real estate, apartment design, ...

After choosing a topic, the next thing you need to do is research the corresponding keyword . Apply the Phantom Keyword search method, by:

Go to Ahrefs , select Keyword Explorer

Select the keyword "stomach pain", filter KD (max = 0), CPC (max = 0.3) and Word Count (min = 4)

Don't forget to filter by the allintitle syntax : Anonymous Google keywords to choose less competitive keywords!

If you do not know how to search for Phantom Keyword and bring in thousands of traffic, please refer to the detailed instruction clip below:

Step 2: Categorize keywords based on user search intent

From the series of keywords above, you need to classify keywords based on the user's search intent.

This step is extremely important and is one of the main reasons why many websites were penalized and affected during the last August 1 and September 27 updates.

Most of the websites that were negatively affected in the two updates were because the content was not optimized for Search Intent. This leads to low time on site metrics and very high bounce rate.

So, how to optimize content for search intent?

First, you need to understand what is Search Intent?

Search Intent is the reason why users use keywords to search on Google. Simple to understand: What do users want when searching for this keyword?

Find out what search intent is

Find out what search intent is

There are 4 types of search intent, including:

1. Information (Informational Intent):

Information search intentInformation search intent

Searching for information about a specific field or topic often takes the form of "what", "how", "why", ... "how to" keywords.

For example: “on page SEO instructions/how/recipes/tips”

Most Internet searches come from this type of Search Intent.

It can be information about hemorrhoid treatment methods 😀 , information about SEO Entity techniques, ...

In this case, the user has a specific question or wants to know more about a certain topic, get their queries answered.

2. Navigation (Navigation Intent):

Navigational search intentNavigational search intent

The second type of search intent is navigation.

Users who search for keywords like “Google Analytics”, “Screaming Frog”, … will have a desire to visit a specific website rather than learn about methods/instructions for use.

The fact that your website has a high ranking for these navigational keywords only benefits in terms of traffic only if your website is exactly the site that users are looking for.

For example: If you have an article " How to use Google Analytics " that ranks high for the keyword "Google Analytics", then there is a very high chance that you will not get any traffic.

Because users really just want to select https://analytics.google.com/analytics/web/provision/?authuser=0#/provision and access this tool.

3. Purchase (Transactional Intent):

Purchase search intent

Purchase search intent

Users when searching for these keywords will tend to want to buy products/services to use.

In other words, the intent of this type of search is to trade.

For example: “SEO company”, “SEO company”, “discount t-shirt”, “Gongcha milk tea district 4”, …

4. Comparison/Commercial Investigation:

Comparative search intentComparative search intent

Some users who intend to purchase in the near future will often use search engines to do research, compare or review products between brands.

For example: “Where is the good SEO service?” or “Best SEO service in HCMC”

These users also intend to buy, but you will need a little more time to convince them: believe that your product/service is better than the market .

And this type of search is often used for commercial investigation purposes.

In general, the words users use in their search will tell you about their search intent.

If people use words like “buy”, “deal”, “discount” then they will definitely buy something.

Besides, when they search for specific products, they are more likely to have the same purchase intention as the group above.

Some of the phrases that express information search intent include: “Best way”, “How”, “Why”, “Guide”, …

In short, understanding the user's search intent ensures that your website provides useful information that matches their expectations.

If users search for information, even if your website ranks at the top for that keyword, but displays a product page, you will increase the bounce rate of your website.

And vice versa, if people want to buy the product, do not foolishly optimize the top rank for a long article. Take them to your category/product page.

Step 3: Optimize Content by topic with Parent Topic & Thematic Content

As mentioned above, optimizing content by keywords is no longer effective!

Thematic content is the thing to do right now!

Let me explain to you:

Since the Google Hummingbird algorithm was born (in 2013) & Google's AI artificial intelligence machine RankBrain was developed (in 2015), Google has made great improvements in returning optimal results to users.

For example, if you search for the term "black cream for shoe polish", before 2015, Google will return results for the keywords "black cream", "shoe polish".

However, thanks to RankBrain, today, Google understands that the user's search intent is "polished poker", so it will return the following results:

Search results for “polish poker” of the past and present day

Search results for “polish poker” of the past and present day

Another example is when you search for the keywords “stomach pain” and “stomach pain”. These two words are quite similar so Google will return the same top 10.

However, in versions from 2015 and earlier, then if you want to optimize these two keywords, you have to write two separate articles with the same topic, and optimize for 2 different keywords.

This leads to the case that if an article you optimize well, it will likely rank for dozens, even hundreds, thousands of keyword variations of that field.

Especially for some business areas, this number can reach millions of keywords.

The best way to optimize content by topic is to look at the Parent topic in Ahrefs :

For example, I want to write an article about " stomach pain symptoms ", then when I look at the Parent topic , the big topic is "stomach pain".

This means that my article is not only about stomach pain symptoms, but also needs to contain all other issues related to stomach pain (such as causes, treatment, signs and symptoms). know stomach pain, ...)

Find Parent Topic via keyword using Ahrefs

Find Parent Topic via keyword using Ahrefs

Step 4: Analyze and list the sub-topics that need to be covered in the article

There are 3 ways to search & list sub-topics, including:

* Method 1: Consult competitors in the top 10 to see what sub-topics they are covering?

In the Overview section of Ahrefs , scroll down to the Search Results section to see what the top 10 competitors are talking about.

The content of this Search Result section is also the result displayed on Google when searching for keywords.

If you don't have Ahrefs , you can anonymously search directly on Google.

Ahrefs . subtopic analysis results

Ahrefs . subtopic analysis results

* Method 2: Translate keywords into English, analyze the content of foreign websites.

This approach is extremely useful for specific fields of engineering and medicine that require a lot of specialized knowledge.

Because most English websites are very detailed and specific, while websites in Vietnam, the content is less carefully invested.

You will find a lot of useful and interesting content from visiting foreign websites!

* Method 3: Use your expertise in the field or put yourself in the position of the user to ask what topic you are looking for.

You can do things like “surveys” and gather information or ask friends and family.

However, this method requires you to get a decent number of people to contribute ideas and is also quite time consuming!

Step 5: Deploy writing articles according to standards

Haha! :)))

Is this the step that scares you the most?

Me too!

In the early days of blogging, I was extremely scared and worried for fear of bad words, not attracting readers.

Creativity, literature, pictures, videos, … blah blah,…

I spent a whole week just writing, deleting, adding content...

Well… of course, for some people, grasping and implementing good content writing isn't too difficult!

But to attract readers with a content longer than 2000 words, that is a completely different thing!

What standards does the content need to meet? The detailed checklist is mentioned in the article How to write SEO Standard Content in 2021 here!

I have a way to help you!

You don't need to spend too many neurons for this step! Your posts are even better quality, more engaging!

That is Outsource - Hire content services !

In projects implementing SEO services at GTV SEO when writing content for customers, we often do it this way:

  1. List detailed outline, heading tag title

  2. Write all the content requirements to be mentioned in each heading

  3. List the best references for the content of each item

In this way, literary talent is no longer a big deal, because there are other more specialized people to take up this job ^o ^

Instead, we focus on checking the quality of content submitted by outsourced collaborators.

And you need a standard checklist to write content, ensuring the quality of the articles achieves the best results.

Here are the content standards that I usually apply:

Length: Minimum 2000 words. However, sometimes there are articles that only need 500-1000 words, even 200-300 (product catalogs on e-commerce sites).

Content:

  • Detailed, in-depth for both topic and sub-topic

  • Match the user's search intent

  • Provide useful information

  • Visual illustrations, visual content (infographic, video, podcast, ...)

Of course, there will be standards: no spin content and check unique content ! That's a prerequisite in the field already!

I usually use Duplicate Content checker software and check the spin content with Copyscape tool. This is a quality paid software that I use a lot.

You can use other free tools like Small SEO tools' Plagiarism Checker or simply copy a few paragraphs and then search on Google to see if there are any duplicate websites.

Layout:

  • Optimize user readability (readability: up to 3 lines/1 paragraph)

  • Arrange heading content closely, related (Table of content)

  • Insert image (250 words need 1 illustration, quality 600×400 px)

Those are some of the standards to be able to write an in-depth article from there to the top of a series of keywords.

For informational keywords, you can also cleverly insert your products and services at the end or middle of the post in the form of a banner as a solution to a user problem.

Strategies to resonate with the power of the holy trinity: Content - SEO - Marketing!

It sounds strange, but this is the part that will help you coordinate your Internet marketing strategy, SEO Content, to not only optimize for traffic, keywords, but also your monthly revenue!

Marketing trends 2018 not only use CRM (Customer Relationship Management) tools to maintain customer relationships, but also resonate with the power of paid advertising channels and SEO.

Here are 3 methods you should apply to your content marketing strategy:

1/ Optimizing TOFU in the marketing funnel:

In a marketing funnel, a person has to go through all 3 stages: Know (know) > Like (Like) > Trust to come to a purchasing decision at your business.

The journey funnel of marketing

The journey funnel of marketing

These 3 stages correspond to: TOFU (top of funnel: top of funnel), MOFU (middle of funnel: middle of funnel) and BOFU (bottom of funnel: bottom of funnel).

Accordingly, thematic content plays a major role at the top of the funnel when it is necessary to achieve Know factors including: brand awareness, interaction and market education.

You can apply different types of content to optimize the top of the funnel such as:

  • Types of blog tutorials (website, notes on Facebook)

  • Live stream video, tutorial vlog (youtube, Facebook)

  • Free gifts like onpage optimization checklist, free ebook, infographic (blog or running ads, ...) to receive leads like I put above, for example.

Diverse content and content writing forms help you meet readers at different levels, and at the same time optimize the posting channel platform.

Don't forget to Share Content on social networking sites (Youtube, Facebook, Instagram,…)! Distribution (distribution/distribution) of content is the fastest way to get traffic to your website!

Or you can also learn how to write Facebook advertising content then write a short post to run ads, link to the main content on the website!

2/ Great way to increase Time Onsite, reduce Bounce Rate with friendly content:

Writing content for a website is not the same as producing content for any other media.

Simply put, users on the Internet read information in countless different ways.

Most Internet users only "scan" to skim through websites , while those who read newspapers and print magazines tend to read word by word , from left to right, from top to bottom.

For me, the biggest difference between reading a piece of content in print (newspapers, magazines, comics or novels) and online news blogs lies in the ability to find alternative sources .

Writing content for the website is a completely different category

Writing content for the website is a completely different category

For example, when you buy a magazine, you won't easily throw it in the trash if you just don't like a few sentences in it. You also won't go back to the newsstand and keep buying another magazine until you find the right one for you.

However, this happens EXTREMELY frequently when it comes to reading online content like blogs on websites.

Your business is not important, it is important that you understand how to write & optimize Content for impatient, impatient Internet users .

Within 8 seconds, if you can't engage users with your content, they will turn to a competitor.

So put the most important content at the top. And insert there Table of Content (as I mentioned above) preliminary details of your content.

Let your readers see the information they need on your website in the first 8 seconds!

3/ Optimize Google Hummingbird & RankBrain algorithm

Google's mission is to organize the vast amount of information globally so that people can easily access and find information that is useful to them.

That useful information is conveyed through Content.

Many websites have violated Google's 3 prerequisites and were penalized in the 1/8 Google Medic update, did your website make this mistake?

That's why the old algorithms are updated and the new algorithms released by Google are focused around "providing useful content to users".

Typical 2 algorithms can be mentioned are:

  1. Google Humming Bird Algorithm:

HummingBird (hummingbird) was officially announced by Google on September 26, 2013.

Google's Humming Bird algorithm optimizes user search intent

Google's Humming Bird algorithm optimizes user search intent

How it works: Inspired by the speed and accuracy of hummingbirds, Google HummingBird focuses on returning results quickly and accurately with users' wishes through consideration of search intent.

Assuming the user types the keyword "apple", the results can return the Apple company or the type of fruit (apple).

How does Google know which results will match the user's wishes best when they search for this keyword?

⇒ Answer: Google looks at your usage context and understands your search intent well.

If you have previously searched for information about iPhone, Google will automatically interpret "apple" as referring to the famous Apple company.

However, if you have searched a lot about nutrition (nutrition), food & fruit (food), … then you will most likely get an apple result.

So, try to write in context, by expanding the topic direction of the website as I instructed above.

  1. Google RankBrain Algorithm:

Besides Google HummingBird, Google RankBrain is another algorithm that you can use through content to optimize your website.

Optimizing RankBrain algorithm based on user interaction on the websiteOptimizing RankBrain algorithm based on user interaction on the website

RankBrain is an artificial intelligence (AI) machine used by Google to sort search results based on the evaluation & adjustment of the importance of website evaluation factors for each field. area.

By looking at how users interact with the new search results once edited, Google RankBrain will decide:

  1. Retain the new algorithm: when users respond positively to the new search results they receive.

  2. Remove new algorithm, use old algorithm: when users don't like the new search results they get.

How it works: Google RankBrain has 2 main jobs:

  1. Find out user search intent (via keywords)

  2. Measuring user satisfaction with new search results (user satisfaction)

Before RankBrain was born, Google would scan your website to detect & update the exact keywords that users searched for.

However, the problem occurs when more and more "new keywords" users use that Google cannot understand, so RankBrain was born in an attempt to capture search intent/intent (search) intent) of the user.

That's why Google is paying more and more attention to the user's search intent, which is the key to deciding whether your website's content has quality or not!

4/ Build trust

In May 2014, on the Moz Blog appeared an article with a eloquent statement: "Content is not King, but trust is really King."

Personally, I think that the sentence written on the Moz site is not intended to be a belief that will replace the content; Instead, they invite users to build trust through content. In other words, Content will still be King if it is a trustworthy article.

Trust is the way to help you get the most effective conversion rate and number of sales.

So, how to build a trustworthy content post?

Let's learn the following formulas:

Building trust by choosing the right words

A content article is a collection of many diverse words/phrases. Content is only meaningful and successful in building trust in users when you know how to choose the right words.

Here are some suggested transitions that you may need to use:

  • Whereby

  • However

  • Because of

  • The result is

  • For this reason

Following is a list of some words that help build strong trust:

  • Accuracy

  • Guaranteed

  • Certified by…

  • Bestseller

  • Get Refunds

  • No risk

  • Genuine

  • Tested by….

  • Try before you buy

  • Verified

Building trust through objectivity

An objective content article is when it ensures a balance of factors, not just thcu1 pushing sales purposes.

According to MarketingProfs, “74% of consumers trust a business' educational material more than others because it appears objective and doesn't include a sale/service section in it.”

Objective content is content that ensures a balance between many different factors

Objective content is content that ensures a balance between many different factors

This doesn't mean you have to stop promoting sales in content articles; but instead, adjust it to meet the needs of the user.”

You see, everything depends on user intent. Therefore, before building content, find out what the customer needs in order to respond promptly.

Build trust by featuring user-generated content

A lot of customers will only trust your content if it is created by other users. User-generated content (UGC) is an important validation factor in content.

UGC shows up in different forms. One of them – customer testimonials (testimonials) – is extremely impactful.

MarketingProfs has found that nearly 60% of users will trust information from a company more if it is verified from well-known customer sources.

UGC is an important authentication factor in content

UGC is an important authentication factor in content

In short, try to boost your marketing efforts with UGC – through reviews, forums, comments section, feedback, case studies, etc. to build user trust.

Build trust by sharing research, metrics, and case studies

One of the greatest ways to build trust is through knowledge that is cited from reliable sources, such as: professors, researchers, governments, millionaires, etc.

Besides, you can also prove the information you share is completely accurate through actual studies, statistics, specific case studies, etc.

The more well-researched and data-backed content is, the easier it will be to win people's hearts.

5/ Improve article quality

Perhaps by now, you are too tired of hearing advice on how to create quality content, right?

In another development, Matt Cutts – a veteran software engineer at Google in the US loves to talk about this topic every time he speaks in front of a crowd. Accordingly, Google also has countless articles related to the phrase "quality content".

And today, I am no exception, I would like to once again summarize the factors that make up the quality of a content article.

  1. Grammar : You need to use correct grammar and clear sentences so that the reader can understand what you want to convey.

  2. Spelling: Please check spelling / typographical errors before publishing content if you do not want to become an unreliable and careless business in the eyes of customers.

  3. Format text: Divide content into small paragraphs so that it is easy to read, using the appropriate bullet function.

  4. Article length: The article does not need to be too long, as long as it provides enough information and clearly outlines the purpose to be conveyed.

  5. Pay attention to the right focus of the article topic: The content should revolve around the main topic, avoid rambling and lengthy.

  6. Expression: The closer and more comfortable the content is, the easier it is to attract readers

  7. Clearly. You should present the content as clearly as possible, do not make the reader waste time guessing the main idea of the article.

Content quality is really important. If you do not create quality content, you will inadvertently lose trust in your readers and customers.

6/ Set Authority

Establishing Authority is probably the most difficult step in this entire article. Everyone wants to build authority for their website, but the way to do it is not simple at all.

One of the biggest obstacles to building authority is that we cannot define exactly what authority is.

Most of us understand authority to refer to the depth of an article. When reading an article, it is easy to see whether it is in-depth or not, but it is not clear about the specific features that characterize the content in that article.

I hope to clear this up with the following three facts about authority. Understanding each of these facts will help you create better in-depth optimized content.

Spend a lot of time

I've heard that building authority for writing is likened to a marathon. It is not easy to gain authority after only a few articles, but sometimes you have to write hundreds of articles to get there.

That is, you have to intentionally create content that is both deep and broad.

  • Content depth: Create detailed, in-depth articles.

  • Width: Guest Blog on other high authority sites.

After a short time, maybe your content creator will be raised to the next level. Just be patient.

Need author with in-depth knowledge

To establish authority in content writing, first of all, you must really understand the field you are operating in

Specifically, if you write about SEO, then you must ensure that you have worked through SEO projects. Similarly, if you write about Marketing, then you must have participated in actual Marketing campaigns.

If readers are knowledgeable about the topic you are writing about, they can immediately tell if your content is in-depth or not.

Credible source

You can't set authority for a piece of content that's all about your personal opinion; but instead, you need to interweave citations from other authentic sources..

Source citation is the standard step in academic writing. Citations provide evidence for your argument and add credibility to your content.

Here are some suggestions for reliable citation sources for content:

  • Census data

  • Medical research

  • Crime data

  • Consumer survey

  • Interviews with relevant agencies

  • Economic data

As a content marketer, you should learn more about other websites or magazines in the industry that provide highly specialized content.

In addition, there are also some additional features that help establish authority for the content. One of them is shares and comments on social networking sites. However, you can't automate getting thousands of shares to back your post – remember this is just a by-product of an in-depth piece of content.

6/ Create CTA (Call-To-Action)

The ultimate goal of Content is to lead users to the bottom of the Marketing funnel – Conversions

A perfectly optimized content article is when it has the ability to drive action for the user, meaning that through each part of the article, the user knows what to do next.

To do that, you need to know how to invite users to participate in the conversion process through the following forms::

  • Create a CTA (call to action) in the body of the post.

  • Use pop-ups to speed up the conversion process.

  • Place CTAs in the sidebar column of the blog post.

  • Create impressive CTA titles to attract conversions

Well-crafted content means that you achieve your goal, and the only way to achieve that goal is to achieve a good conversion rate.

7/ Optimize interaction with Visuals

Optimizing your content with visuals such as images or videos will have a huge impact on customer engagement and purchasing decisions.

I will show you through the following statistics:

  • Posts with images get 94% more views overall.

  • Press releases with photos/videos get 45% more views.

  • 67% of consumers say that the quality of product images is important in product selection and purchase.

When you add images to your content, ensure the following:

  • Image or video that matches the content.

  • Images add practical value to the content.

  • Images do not slow down loading time while maintaining article quality.

  • Images are optimized for search engines and social sites.

Epilogue:

In short, Content is always the right thing to say, or Content is King , especially in this rapidly growing Digital Marketing era!

How have you used Content Marketing to optimize the process of attracting, nurturing & caring to turn a stranger into your loyal customer? What are you most excited about when implementing your content optimization strategy ?

Or do you have any difficulty in applying content writing?

Have a good day!
